New Road to Link Bharat Future City and Ease Industrial Traffic

The Telangana government is upgrading an existing road to improve access to Bharat Future City near Hyderabad and ease the movement of industrial and construction vehicles. The project will cover 8 km from Takkellapalli on the Hyderabad–Nagarjunasagar highway, passing through Kurmidda and Tatiparthi, at an estimated cost of Rs. 300 mn.

The existing single-lane track will be converted into a two-lane road. The upgrade is intended to accommodate increased heavy vehicle movement and support the transport requirements of industries and future commercial activity developing around the project area.

Around 1,000 acres near Takkellapalli have been allotted to 10 multinational companies for factory construction. The companies require transportation for heavy machinery and construction material, and their demand for a dedicated route has prompted authorities to take up the road project.

At present, the principal route to Bharat Future City passes through Tukkuguda and Meerkhanpet. As construction activity in the development area gathers pace, traffic carrying machinery and construction supplies on this route is expected to increase, raising concerns over congestion and travel delays.

The new Takkellapalli road is planned as an alternative route that can distribute traffic and reduce pressure on the existing connection. Officials also intend to link it eventually with the Ratan Tata Radial Road, creating a route towards the Regional Ring Road and, through Kongarakalan, towards the Outer Ring Road. The proposed connections are expected to improve access between the industrial area and Hyderabad’s wider road network as development progresses.
