Window Magic Supplies Fenestration for BDD Chawls Project

Window Magic is contributing to the redevelopment of the historic Bombay Development Department (BDD) Chawls in Worli, Mumbai, regarded as one of Asia’s largest urban redevelopment projects being executed by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).

The redevelopment project involves transforming the century-old low-rise chawls into 33 modern residential towers of up to 40 floors each. The development will create 8,976 residential units with upgraded infrastructure and improved living conditions for residents.

As part of the project, Window Magic is supplying and installing 61,875 aluminium window units across all residential towers. The company said the fenestration systems have been designed to deliver durability, energy efficiency and modern aesthetics suited for large-scale urban housing developments.

Phase 1 of the redevelopment, comprising eight towers, is expected to be completed by May or June 2026, while Phase 2, comprising 25 towers, is tentatively scheduled for completion by April 2030.

Manish Bansal, Managing Director, Window Magic, said the company’s association with the BDD Chawls redevelopment reflects its focus on supporting large-scale urban infrastructure and housing modernisation projects with advanced fenestration solutions.

Founded in 2002, Window Magic manufactures engineered uPVC and aluminium doors and windows for residential, commercial, institutional and infrastructure developments across India.
