LANXESS presented a broad range of solutions for the paints and coatings industry at the Paint India exhibition held from February 19 to 21 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai. The company highlighted products that support enhanced performance, protection and quality across paint and coating applications while aligning with sustainability and regulatory requirements. The presentation targeted manufacturers of water-based formulations and those seeking improved durability and processing efficiency.

Aqueous raw materials used in the formulation of paints and coatings can foster the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast, threatening product integrity and shelf life. LANXESS outlined its biocide and preservative technologies that are designed to control microbial contamination in the wet state and to protect dry film from algae, mould and mildew. The firm showcased a latest portfolio that includes names such as Preventol, Kathon, Bioban, Biox, Rocima and Sea Nine to address formulation protection needs.

The company also emphasised its inorganic colour pigments used for colouring in construction, paint and coatings and plastics industries, noting high colour strength, consistency, lightfastness, colourfastness, ultraviolet stability and weather resistance. Bayferrox and Colortherm brands were showcased to demonstrate pigments tailored for long lasting visual impact and environmentally friendly processing. These products were presented as supporting both aesthetic and performance requirements in exterior and interior applications.

Additives that enhance formulation properties and application safety were presented, spanning flame retardants, plasticisers, coalescing agents and speciality colourant additives that aim to improve longevity and ease of application. LANXESS reported sales of six point four billion (bn) euros in 2024 and said it employs 11,800 people across 32 countries, with a core business in chemical intermediates, additives and consumer protection products. The company listed its positions in sustainability indices and noted commitments to regulatory compliance and product stewardship.
