Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), India's largest private airport operator, has been recognised by Prix Versailles after two of its facilities were named among the World's Most Beautiful Airports 2026. The two included Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and Terminal two of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati (LGBIA), with the recognition citing design, sustainability and passenger centric planning. Prix Versailles is an annual global architecture and design award presented at UNESCO headquarters in Paris since 2015 and honours contemporary airports that move beyond conventional design.

Alongside NMIA and LGBIA, five other international airports were listed, including Guangzhou in China, Frankfurt am Main in Germany, Kandal Stueng in Cambodia, Pittsburgh in the United States and San Diego in the United States. NMIA's Terminal one was recognised for its lotus inspired architecture, a futuristic design language and integration of technology, art and functionality that the release said creates a world class gateway reflecting India’s modern aspirations. The award therefore acknowledged both aesthetic ambition and operational considerations.

LGBIA is described in the release as anchored at the intersection of South and Southeast Asia and serving as a gateway to Northeast India, a region celebrated for its ecological diversity and indigenous heritage. The architectural language of Terminal two is guided by the biophilic elegance of the Bamboo Orchid and is intended to honour regional biodiversity through a highly functional, sustainable envelope. AAHL's spokesperson said the company was honoured by the recognition and reiterated its commitment to delivering world class experiences and to viewing airports as connectors of people and regions.

The release added that Prix Versailles seeks to promote intelligent sustainability in which culture serves and transcends the environment and that three airports or terminals from the 2026 list will receive a World Title, to be announced at the end of the year. The recognition places AAHL among international peers and is presented as validation of its focus on architectural excellence, functionality, sustainability and operational efficiency. The company will await the final World Title decisions later in the year.
