Guwahati airport sees record-breaking footfall in FY 2024-25

The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati recorded a new high by handling over 6.57 million passengers in the financial year 2024-25. This includes 3.26 million domestic arrivals, 3.30 million domestic departures, and over 91,000 international travellers.

Operated by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, the airport managed 46,418 aircraft traffic movements, with 1,009 being international. This marked an increase from 45,400 movements in the previous year, which included 582 international flights.

The airport expanded its global connectivity with new direct international flights to Paro, Malaysia, and Singapore. It also introduced three new domestic routes: Guwahati to Ahmedabad, Durgapur, and Ziro.

Cargo operations grew significantly, with 12,893 metric tonnes of cargo handled, compared to 4,550 metric tonnes in the previous financial year — a 183.91 per cent year-on-year growth.

LGBI Airport continues to strengthen its position as a key aviation hub for the Northeast, focusing on improved connectivity and service.
