Bhago Mobility, Honda launch EV platform for urban transport

Bhago Mobility has partnered with Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) and Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID) to launch an integrated electric mobility platform aimed at supporting India’s growing urban transport ecosystem. The initiative will initially deploy electric two-wheelers in Delhi and Bengaluru, with a nationwide rollout planned over the next three years.

The platform is designed for delivery partners, ride-hailing drivers, and last-mile logistics workers, offering bundled access to electric vehicles, battery-swapping services, regulatory compliance, and technology support through a subscription-based model. It also provides flexible ownership options, enabling individuals to own electric vehicles for personal use or make them available for commercial operations.

The initiative aims to create employment opportunities for individuals with minimal formal education, requiring only a valid driving licence. The platform is expected to help users enhance their earnings by over 20 per cent while addressing key challenges such as high upfront vehicle costs, charging downtime, maintenance, and regulatory complexities.

Under the partnership, HMSI will supply electric two-wheelers designed for high-utilisation commercial applications, while HEID will provide battery-swapping infrastructure to enable quick battery replacement and minimise operational downtime. The integrated approach seeks to improve worker productivity and operational efficiency by combining vehicle access with energy infrastructure.

Commenting on the partnership, Mutsuo Usui, Director – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said the collaboration aims to deliver sustainable and reliable mobility solutions for everyday riders through advanced engineering and a technology-driven battery-swapping ecosystem, supported by comprehensive after-sales services.

Aditya Goyal, Managing Director, Bhago Mobility, said the partnership brings together complementary capabilities to address real-world urban mobility challenges and provide a scalable platform for both vehicle operators and asset owners.

Bhago Mobility’s proprietary technology platform integrates background verification, operations management, roadside assistance, and performance analytics to help drivers optimise routes, understand demand patterns, and improve service quality. The company plans to initially onboard delivery partners from e-commerce and food delivery platforms before expanding into ride-hailing and logistics services as the battery-swapping network grows.

The initiative also focuses on increasing women’s participation in India’s transport and logistics sector through targeted outreach, training programmes, and dedicated support systems, aiming to create safe and flexible income opportunities while strengthening workforce participation in urban mobility.
