Bharat Buildcon 2026 was inaugurated at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Jitin Prasada, alongside the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, and Member of Parliament Shri Parshottam Rupala, in the presence of representatives from the construction and building materials industry. More than 25,000 visitors attended the exhibition on the inaugural day. The event brought together architects, builders, developers, contractors, manufacturers, traders, policymakers, industry associations and international buyers to provide a platform for industry interaction and business engagement.

Shri Jitin Prasada highlighted the role of free trade agreements in supporting economic growth and expanding opportunities for the Indian industry in international markets. He referred to the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, noting that the pact is expected to provide enhanced market access and to strengthen trade relations, thereby creating opportunities for manufacturers and exporters. He also invoked the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to position India as a trusted global manufacturing and sourcing destination through a continued emphasis on quality.

Prasada commented that India possesses the capabilities and resources to bolster its presence across sectors, including construction and building materials. He indicated that platforms such as Bharat Buildcon facilitate interaction among manufacturers, innovators, buyers, policymakers and industry stakeholders and contribute to greater collaboration and commercial opportunities within the sector. The exhibition features participation from more than 90 countries and from over 100 cities across India, showcasing products, technologies and innovations across 24 segments.

Highlighted segments include ceramics and stone, hardware, cement and steel, plywood and laminates, furniture, sanitaryware, electricals, paints and construction technologies and other allied sectors. The exhibition will continue over the coming days to provide a venue for industry engagement, technology demonstration and business interactions. Organisers said the show aims to support deal-making and to encourage the adoption of new construction technologies by domestic and international participants.
