In Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka sought Centre approval for Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) proposals to pursue coal gasification, framing the move as aligned with national policy. He met Union coal and mines minister G. Kishan Reddy to discuss SCCL plans, allocation of new coal blocks and the mining lease for Tadicherla Coal Block–II. The discussion focused on how coal resources can be deployed to meet future industrial requirements as well as power needs.

Bhatti argued that coal should not be confined to conventional power generation but should be used in value-added applications to strengthen energy security and industrial usage. He said SCCL was ready to proceed and that the company was examining modern technologies, following initiatives being taken by Coal India in gasification. He urged the Ministry of Coal to provide technical guidance, policy support and assistance in linking SCCL initiatives with central schemes.

He highlighted that Koyagudem Block–III in the Godavari Valley Coal Fields remained crucial for meeting Telangana's power requirements and noted that operations had not commenced even after four years since auction. In that context he requested that Koyagudem Block–III be allocated to Singareni Collieries. Bhatti also outlined that SCCL had undertaken pre-mining activities and exploration at Tadicherla Coal Block–II and that there was an urgent need to expedite the mining lease process. He requested prior approval under Section five of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (MMDR Act) for Tadicherla Coal Block–II.

The Union minister responded positively and agreed that a joint meeting would be convened with concerned central, state and Singareni officials to discuss coal gasification plans, the allocation of Koyagudem Block–III and the mining lease issue at Tadicherla. The outcomes sought by Bhatti were presented as important for Singareni's future requirements, Telangana's energy security and the employment opportunities that value-added use of coal would generate. Officials were expected to take the next steps in coordination.
