Chhattisgarh Clears Rs 4.29 Billion Urban Upgrade Projects

The Chhattisgarh government has approved projects worth Rs 4.29 billion across 13 municipal corporations in the current financial year under the Mukhyamantri Nagarotthan Yojana, aimed at developing iconic urban infrastructure across the state, an official said on Monday.

Announced in the 2025–26 budget, the scheme will cover all 14 municipal corporations in its first phase, followed by municipal councils and nagar panchayats in the subsequent phase.

According to a government release, and with the approval of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao—who also heads the Urban Administration and Development Department—26 projects valued at Rs 4.29 billion have been sanctioned so far in the ongoing fiscal year across 13 municipal corporations.
