A high level meeting at the Delhi Secretariat brought together members of the Legislative Assembly and Public Works Department (PWD) officials to review major infrastructure projects aimed at improving road connectivity and easing congestion in Outer and rural parts of the national capital.

Local representatives outlined constituency requirements and offered inputs to planning. The session formed part of ongoing efforts to address travel delays and support regional development.

During the meeting the Bawana legislator and Delhi minister Ravinder Indraj Singh put forward two major initiatives, including an elevated corridor over the auxiliary drainage channel in Bawana and an 11.7 km long Kanjhawala Mangolpuri elevated corridor designed to relieve severe traffic on major arteries in West and North West Delhi.

The 11.7 km stretch would facilitate smoother daily travel for commuters and to reduce congestion on adjoining roads. Officials were asked to consider dedicated entry and exit points for surrounding villages and to strengthen pedestrian facilities.

The minister advocated a phased construction strategy to prevent severe disruption to daily travel and underlined that the infrastructure framework must serve both main corridor traffic and residents of adjoining villages. He called for a comprehensive capacity and future traffic assessment for the corridor to take account of expected vehicular growth in the coming years.

Emphasising the rural character of areas such as Bawana and Kanjhawala the minister said upgraded road networks have long been sought and are essential for balanced regional development. PWD officials were directed to incorporate ground realities and suggestions from local elected representatives while preparing and finalising the detailed project report, with an emphasis on tailoring design to local requirements. Officials were asked to ensure that traffic safety measures and seamless local connectivity are integral to planning and that construction phasing minimises disruption.
