The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has invited bids for the design and construction of a passenger connection linking the underground Azadpur Metro Station on Line 7 with the elevated Azadpur Metro Station on the Line 8 extension. The estimated cost of the contract is Rs 7.54 crore (Rs 75.4 million (mn)), with the conversion to million defined here as million (mn). The project is intended to improve passenger movement and access at one of Delhi Metro's busiest interchange stations.

The tender is identified as CPM-2/2026-27/D-22 and is quoted as inclusive of all taxes. The tender security has been set at Rs 7.54 lakh (Rs 0.754 million (mn)). The work carries a completion period of five months from the date of award. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for four August 2026 at 11:30 am and the tender submission window runs from 14 August 2026 nine am to 22 August 2026 three pm.

The scope covers the design and construction of a passenger link between the underground entry and exit areas of the Pink Line station and the elevated platforms of the Line 8 extension. Azadpur currently connects the underground Pink Line with the Yellow Line and the Phase IV extension will bring the Magenta Line extension into the interchange, converting Azadpur into a triple interchange. The new connection will shorten transfer times, improve circulation and ease congestion across the station complex. The work is presented as part of Phase IV efforts to enhance network integration and passenger convenience.

The link is intended to support smoother multimodal movement and to strengthen Azadpur's role as a major transfer hub in the city's rapid transit system. The DMRC has set the tender milestones to align construction with broader Phase IV delivery schedules.
