Forvia To Invest 70 Million Euro In India To Expand Manufacturing
The fresh commitment will raise Forvia's total investment in India to 270 million euro (mn) by 2030, equivalent to about Rs 27 bn. The company plans to establish three new manufacturing plants, including a clean mobility facility in western India, a lighting unit and a seating plant, aimed at strengthening production of vehicle electronics and premium technologies. The new sites are intended to support both local original equipment manufacturers and export customers.
Forvia generated around 450 million euro (mn) in revenue from India in 2025, about Rs 45 bn, and anticipates continued faster growth in the country. The company intends to expand its workforce in India by 50 per cent, increasing employee numbers to more than 9,000 by 2030 from about 6,000 today. Executives noted that shifting consumer preference towards SUVs and feature rich vehicles is driving demand for lighting, electronic components and cockpit solutions.
Forvia was created by the merger of Faurecia and Hella and combines expertise in vehicle interiors, electronics, lighting and clean mobility solutions. The firm already operates more than 10 plants and research and development centres across India and said the planned investment will enhance capacity and support technology development. Management described the timing as appropriate given rising vehicle production, growing domestic demand and the availability of engineering talent.
