Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a meeting of the State-Level Committee (SLC) in Chandigarh to review draft development plans for Naraingarh-2031, Kurukshetra-2041, Narnaul-2041 and Panipat-2041. The plans from the Department of Town and Country Planning aimed to promote planned land use, orderly urban growth and regulated building development across the state. The committee reviewed technical reports and mapped priorities to align local proposals with state objectives.

The chief minister directed officers to align urban development plans with the vision of Viksit Bharat-2047, ensuring future planning addressed projected population growth, modern infrastructure, environmental sustainability, efficient transport and balanced expansion. He asked for adequate provisions for sewage treatment plants, water treatment facilities, power infrastructure, entertainment zones and other civic amenities to avert shortages. Officials were instructed to integrate service corridors and long term utility planning into each draft.

Officials said the Naraingarh plan was prepared for a projected population of 95,000 by 2031 and envisaged the development of six residential sectors. The proposal accounted for growth opportunities from National Highway-72, expansion of industrial areas, conservation of natural drainage and creation of green zones. The chief minister directed that sufficient distance be maintained between industrial and residential areas to ensure a healthy living environment.

While reviewing Kurukshetra the committee underlined that the district's religious and cultural importance should guide development and called for conservation of the Jyotisar area, development aligned with the Saraswati River, expanded green spaces and effective flood management. In Narnaul the draft proposed 20 residential sectors and discussed industrial development in line with the proposed Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub and inclusion of a new bypass. Balanced development of residential, industrial, transport and green zones was stressed.

The Panipat draft was reviewed in view of the city's growing population and proposed new residential areas on both sides of the existing city alongside expansion of the road network, sewage treatment plants and boosting stations. The chief minister directed officers to prepare plans for industrial zones extending up to one kilometre on either side of the Panipat-Shamli National Highway.
