ITA to Launch India Project Support Programme for Clean Industry

The Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA), a global multi-stakeholder initiative launched at COP28 to drive decarbonisation in heavy-emitting sectors, will launch its India Project Support Programme and release the India Insights Briefing on November 4, 2025, in New Delhi. The programme aims to accelerate India’s clean industrial transformation and help projects reach Final Investment Decision (FID).

Developed in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the initiative will deliver targeted solutions to overcome key barriers and advance commercial-scale near-zero emission projects. India, which has the world’s third-largest pipeline of clean industrial projects, has more than 65 initiatives across sectors such as steel, cement, aluminium, chemicals, and aviation.

The India Insights Briefing, developed with BCG, will highlight how industrial growth can boost India’s global competitiveness, strengthen energy security, and attract clean investments.

James Schofield, Managing Director, ITA, said India’s industrial transformation “represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to drive economic growth and climate ambition.” Sumit Gupta of BCG added that the initiative will “accelerate innovative technologies toward investment and deployment.”

The programme will convene government, industry, and financial stakeholders to identify actionable steps to turn India’s decarbonisation potential into bankable, scalable projects.
