Johnson Lifts Private has recently been declared the lowest bidder for the elevator package of the Kochi Metro Phase 2 Project. Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) opened technical bids on 29 September 2025, followed by technical evaluation and financial bid opening on 27 November 2025. Johnson Lifts was identified as the lowest bidder the same day and subsequently received the Letter of Acceptance from Maha-Metro.

The firm’s bid was valued at Rs 174 million, while Otis Elevator Company (India) submitted a bid of Rs 19.7 crore. The contract involves the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of heavy-duty machine room-less elevators for Phase 2 of the metro.

Phase 2 of Kochi Metro comprises the Pink Line, stretching 11.2 km from JLN Stadium to Infopark with 11 stations. KMRL has also recently named Schindler India Private Limited as the lowest bidder for the escalator package for the same phase.
