Kia, ASDC Partner to Train Skilled Auto Workforce

Kia India has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to build a skilled workforce for the automotive sector through structured training and certification programmes aligned with the Skill India Mission.
The collaboration introduces a 30-day training module, comprising 15 days of classroom learning at ASDC-certified centres and 15 days of hands-on training at authorised Kia dealerships. The curriculum covers core automotive concepts, dealership operations, and Kia-specific standards, systems, and product knowledge.
Graduates will receive joint certification from Kia India and ASDC, making them eligible for direct recruitment into sales and service roles at Kia dealerships. The initiative will focus on workforce readiness for electric vehicle adoption and enhancing customer experience.
Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, said the programme would strengthen the dealer network by bringing in professionals who reflect Kia’s values of quality, care, and innovation, ultimately delivering a better experience for customers nationwide.
Training will be conducted under expert supervision at dealerships to ensure job readiness from day one. Kia India operates a manufacturing facility in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, with an annual capacity of 300,000 units. Since production began in August 2019, the company has dispatched 1.5 million vehicles, including 1.2 million for the domestic market and 367,000 for export, and currently maintains 744 touchpoints across 329 cities in India.
