Moglix, one of Asia’s largest B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology firms, has launched a greenfield bitumen processing facility under its manufacturing arm, DRG Industries. Situated in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, the facility will commence commercial operations in July 2025. This move reflects Moglix’s commitment to driving India’s infrastructure transformation through sustainable and high-performance materials.
As India advances toward its Viksit Bharat vision, building infrastructure that is safe, durable, and sustainable is vital. With the second-largest road network globally, the country now faces the challenge of enhancing road longevity while reducing environmental impact. Road safety, a national priority, demands materials that improve surface integrity and reduce wear. Moglix’s foray into bitumen manufacturing aligns with this goal of creating safer, smarter roads.
Through DRG Industries, the company will produce advanced, value-added bitumen products, including polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing-grade emulsions, and hard binders. These products are engineered to prolong road life, reduce maintenance needs, and lower carbon emissions.
A highlight of the facility’s offerings—microsurfacing—is internationally recognised for sealing cracks, improving friction, and enhancing durability. Compared to traditional resurfacing, microsurfacing can double pavement lifespan while cutting carbon emissions by up to 44 per cent. Moglix is also investing in indigenous R&D to develop tailored solutions for India’s diverse terrain, climate, and traffic conditions.
Rahul Garg, Founder and CEO of Moglix, stated, “Our roads are the veins of Viksit Bharat. Building them stronger and smarter requires materials that are not only durable but sustainable. DRG Industries is our commitment to roads that last longer and serve better, with responsibility at the core.”
Spread over 3.5 acres, the DRG Industries plant houses advanced Denimotech mills, automated production lines, and a dedicated R&D centre. With a processing capacity exceeding 28,000 metric tonnes per month, the facility positions Moglix as a significant player in India’s bitumen sector. It utilises biomass-fuelled, carbon-neutral boilers equipped with scrubber systems and filter bags, aligning with the company’s ESG roadmap.
Strategically placed to serve northern and central India, the facility will support infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, as well as exports to Nepal.
The plant is expected to generate regional employment and boost the local SME ecosystem through vendor and contractor engagement. As a greenfield project, it exemplifies Moglix’s capacity to deliver scalable, sustainable industrial infrastructure. The company also plans to expand its bitumen manufacturing footprint nationwide.
Founded in 2015, Moglix serves over 1,000 large enterprises and 3,000+ factories across sectors like automotive, energy, metals, chemicals, and infrastructure. With a digital-first approach, it provides integrated solutions for sourcing, logistics, financing, and technology—streamlining procurement across more than 50 industrial categories.
