MoLE, Zomato Partner to Create Jobs via NCS Portal

The Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoLE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zomato in New Delhi to expand flexible, technology-enabled livelihood opportunities through the National Career Service (NCS) platform.

The MoU, signed in the presence of Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State, Shobha Karandlaje, and Secretary, Vandana Gurnani, will enable the creation of nearly 250,000 job opportunities annually under the new ‘Aggregator’ category on NCS.

Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya stated that the collaboration will integrate gig and platform economy roles into the formal employment system, providing youth and women jobseekers access to dignified, technology-driven livelihoods. He highlighted that the NCS portal, launched in 2015, has facilitated over 77 million vacancies, connecting millions of job seekers with employers at national and international levels.

Minister of State, Shobha Karandlaje emphasised the government’s focus on extending social protection to both organised and unorganised workers under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). She urged industry stakeholders to support inclusive and secure livelihoods for all.

Secretary, Vandana Gurnani noted that new employment listings expected around Diwali would further boost opportunities. She highlighted India’s recognition by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and the rise in social security coverage from 19 per cent in 2015 to 64.3 per cent in 2025.

Over the past year, MoLE has signed MoUs with 14 major organisations including Amazon, Swiggy, Zepto, and TeamLease, generating over five lakh jobs. The Zomato partnership adds momentum to the Ministry’s mission of connecting job seekers with industry and strengthening Bharat’s gig economy.
