Montra Electric has signed two memoranda of understanding with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to support replacement of old trucks and buses in the National Capital Region. The company's electric medium commercial vehicle (eMHCV) and electric small commercial vehicle (eSCV) businesses signed separate agreements under the Centre's scheme to support the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) policy for replacement of ageing commercial vehicles in Delhi-NCR. The arrangements were announced in a company statement.

Both Montra entities will support eligible fleet operators and customers by providing their solutions and technical assistance, aimed at accelerating the transition towards cleaner freight movement across the region. The company indicated that the move is intended to reduce operational barriers for fleets considering zero emission alternatives and to help integrate modern fleet technologies with existing logistics operations. The support is structured to align with the objectives of the central scheme and regional policy.

The NCRPB policy seeks to facilitate removal of polluting commercial vehicles from roads in the National Capital Region and to promote adoption of modern, lower emissions vehicles. This initiative is part of broader efforts by central and regional authorities to improve air quality and reduce transport sector emissions in urban corridors. Industry participation by vehicle manufacturers and service providers is presented as a key enabler for timely replacement of ageing trucks and buses.
