National Aluminium Company Limited, a Navratna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, launched a new IA91 grade aluminium alloy ingot on 25 February 2026 at its Kolkata Stockyard. The launch was led by the director for commercial operations, with senior company officials in attendance. IA91 is a high performance silicon based casting alloy engineered to deliver an optimal balance of castability, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The alloy has been developed for gravity die casting and low pressure die casting techniques and is intended for applications in the automotive, electrical and power equipment, industrial sectors and foundries. The material properties are expected to meet the demands of advanced casting applications. The specification is intended to offer consistent performance across batch production and to facilitate predictable machining outcomes.

NALCO indicated that the new product forms part of an expanding range of value added offerings designed to support downstream industries. The chairman and managing director conveyed congratulations to the production and marketing teams and stated that the broadened product portfolio demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to delivering quality.
