Residents of New Gurugram have renewed calls for daily public bus services linking sectors 79 to 102 with the Millennium City Centre, Cyber Hub and Sector 21 in Delhi's Dwarka. They said sectors 79, 80, 81, 99, 99A, 101 and 102 lack city bus services, forcing commuters to rely on private transport. They argued scheduled daily services would lower travel costs and improve last-mile connectivity for office-goers and industrial workers. Representations have been submitted to the Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited.

GMCBL received the first of 25 electric buses under the Prime Minister e-Bus Sewa scheme, with the remainder expected by August 15. The vehicle will undergo trials on primary, trunk and longer routes to assess operational cost per kilometre and to identify parking and charging needs. Key routes to be tested include 212 from Gurugram Bus Stop to Dhundahera, 116F from Gurugram railway station to Kadarpur and 134 from Iffco Chowk to Dhana.

Resident associations and development groups have sought a fixed daily timetable after surveys showed significant demand. One association reported that a survey of around 10,000 residents in February indicated nearly 60 per cent of demand comes from office-goers travelling to Dwarka and industrial workers commuting from Delhi. Advocates said costs from tolls, parking and fuel place an excessive burden on commuters and that carpooling does not substitute for regular bus services.

GMCBL said the plan envisages 25 e-buses for growing sectors and a proposal to run 20 intercity buses on four regional routes linking Manesar clusters with Dwarka Mod, the airport metro interchange in Sector 21 and the Gurugram bus stand in Sector 10, covering 140 km. A special purpose vehicle has been formed by two private firms to operate and maintain 100 e-buses and to install charging infrastructure at the Sector 10 depot. Six charging stations are already operational and 12 more will be added to reach capacity for 36 e-buses. Officials said trials will finalise operational viability and concessionaire costs and that residents can track buses on the Gurugaman App after inauguration.
