Oxygen Express delivers nearly 4,200 mt oxygen to MH, UP, MP & other states
The national transporter informed the media that it offloaded 293 million tonne (mt) LMO in Maharashtra, 1,230 mt in Uttar Pradesh, 555 mt in Haryana, 271 mt in Madhya Pradesh, 40 mt in Rajasthan, 1,679 mt in Delhi and 123 mt LMO in Telangana.
Kanpur was among the new cities to have received LMO and 80 mt oxygen has been delivered to the city for emergency medical use. Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal told the media that the train carrying LMO had reached Kanpur from Durgapur in West Bengal.
According to Goyal, more loaded 'Oxygen Expresses' are expected to start their journeys.
As we have reported earlier, the Minister of Railways has announced that the Indian Railways is set to operate "Oxygen Trains" to get bulk oxygen rapidly to patients.
Green corridors are being developed to ensure the fast movement of these trains. LMO and oxygen cylinders are being transported on these trains.
