Powertrac Orders 10 GWh BESS Production Line in Gujarat
The production line will be designed around a highly automated and AI-enabled manufacturing architecture, incorporating automated BESS container fabrication, automated guided vehicle (AGV)-based intelligent material movement, robotic assembly and handling, automated inspection and testing and comprehensive quality-control systems. Integrated assembly, testing and commissioning capabilities will support rapid scale-up and compliance with safety and technical specifications. The ordered line will incorporate further advanced intelligent-manufacturing technologies to enhance throughput and consistency.
Powertrac has more than 16 years of experience in solar PV module manufacturing, turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and distributed renewable-energy independent power producer (IPP) projects. The firm currently has 480 megawatt (MW) of distributed renewable-energy IPP projects under signed power purchase agreements, including initiatives under PM-KUSUM-C and the Gujarat DISCOM Distributed Renewable Energy Build Programme (DREBP), and it has secured more than 50 per cent of the land required.
The company completed revenue department due diligence for the feeder-level solarisation projects and reported a PPA tariff of Rs two point seven six per kWh with deployment of domestic content requirement (DCR) solar PV modules. Powertrac aims to build an integrated renewable-energy and storage platform and has set a target of achieving one gigawatt (GW) of operational IPP capacity by 2030 while addressing opportunities in commercial and industrial (C&I) solutions, utility-scale storage, grid stabilisation and operations and maintenance services.
