Shree Cement Proposes Rs. 67 bn Investment in Andhra Pradesh

Shree Cement plans to invest Rs. 67 bn in Andhra Pradesh, with the proposed projects expected to create employment and livelihood opportunities for around 3,000 people, industries, commerce and food processing minister T.G. Bharat said. The investment proposal was discussed during a meeting between company representatives and the minister in Visakhapatnam.

The company is particularly interested in expanding its operations in Kadapa, Palnadu and Anakapalli districts, according to Bharat. The proposed projects are expected to support industrial development across the state while generating direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Bharat said the Andhra Pradesh government was prioritising industrial development and employment generation. It was also working to create an investor-friendly environment to attract companies and facilitate the establishment of new industrial projects.

Several leading companies were showing interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Bharat said. The government was extending the necessary support and cooperation to companies seeking to establish industries in the state.

Shree Cement vice-chairman Prashant Babu was among the company representatives who met the minister. The discussions focused on the company’s proposed investment and its interest in developing operations in the three identified districts. The state government’s support is intended to help advance the plans and strengthen industrial activity in Andhra Pradesh.
