Sigma Advanced Systems Reconstitutes Board To Support Global Growth

Sigma Advanced Systems Limited (Sigma) has reconstituted its board as it prepares for the next phase of growth in the global aerospace and defence sector.

The Hyderabad based company announced the induction of independent directors with expertise in defence procurement, aerospace manufacturing and international trade.

The refreshed board structure is intended to combine operational experience with independent oversight and to support expanding export programmes.

Governance has been aligned to strengthen committee driven decision making.

Among the new appointees is Lieutenant General B. S. Raju (Retd), a former Vice Chief of the Army Staff who also served as General Officer Commanding in Chief of the South Western Command and as Director General Military Operations.

He brings deep operational insight into defence acquisition and strategy.

The board also welcomed Ambassador Nagendra Prasad, a former Indian Foreign Service officer with overseas postings and expertise in export controls and global regulatory compliance.

Kartheek Raju joins with experience in large scale aerospace manufacturing, global supply chains and capital allocation.

With the new composition the company is strengthening key board committees including audit, risk, nomination and remuneration to ensure structured oversight.

Greater emphasis will be placed on compliance, cybersecurity safeguards, internal audits and quality systems as the company expands internationally.

The board is expected to take a larger role in reviewing export control frameworks and in guiding risk management for global supply chain engagements.

Decision making will become more committee driven and aligned with financial discipline.

The timing of the board restructuring reflects a transition into a phase of expansion into international markets and deeper participation in global aerospace supply chains.

The company has been executing strategic partnerships, technology collaborations and acquisitions and has secured major defence orders domestically.

The chief executive said the reconstitution reflects Sigma's evolution as it scales operations globally and reinforces commitment to operational excellence, compliance and long term value creation.

Over the next three to five years the board is expected to act as a governance anchor and strategic guide to accelerate growth initiatives and enhance institutional credibility.
