Suzlon Secures 195 MW Repeat Order For S144 Platform
This order is part of an orderbook in Karnataka that now exceeds 2,000 MW and will be executed in the Bijapur district. Suzlon will supply 65 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each rated at three MW, and will undertake supply, erection and commissioning as well as comprehensive operations and maintenance services post commissioning. The company noted that its installed base in Karnataka stands at 1,500 MW, representing 24 per cent of Suzlon's installed base in South India. Suzlon is also executing other commercial and industrial projects in the state totalling 664 MW.
Company executives indicated the three MW platform has been the firm's most successful innovation and a key growth driver in India, aligning with national renewable energy priorities. They identified Karnataka as a leading market by orderbook alongside Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Maharashtra and attributed strong demand to the commercial and industrial segment where wind is increasingly used for round-the-clock solutions. The repeat order was described as a reflection of trust in Suzlon's execution and lifecycle support capabilities.
Sunsure Energy was described as a round-the-clock renewable energy solutions provider with 700 MW of operational assets and 7,100 MW under development and construction, targeting 10,000 MW of operational capacity by 2030. The firm is backed by an equity commitment of 400 million (mn) dollars from Partners Group AG. The Suzlon Group was noted to have some 21,500 MW of installations globally as of 31 December 2025 and an installed base of 15,500 MW in India with a further 6,000 MW outside the country.
