Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting and business solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with The Warehouse Group (TWG) to support the next phase of the retailer’s digital transformation journey.
Under the partnership, TCS will focus on technology modernisation by streamlining and consolidating platforms and maximising value from existing investments across the end-to-end retail value chain. TCS will assist TWG in building the capabilities and services needed to enhance performance.
Leveraging its expertise in technology, data and AI within the retail sector, TCS will collaborate with TWG on strategic initiatives to simplify and modernise the IT landscape, thereby driving operational efficiencies. As part of the agreement, TCS will also support TWG’s workforce development by providing digital and AI upskilling programmes.
Mr Mark Stirton, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Warehouse Group, said the partnership marks a significant step forward. “We’ve spent the past year lowering costs, but this partnership allows us to go deeper. TCS will build on our current cost initiatives and unlock the capability and capacity to obtain more value from the technology investments we’ve made to date. The partnership is estimated to reduce costs in licences and managed services by up to US$40 million over five years and will help free up our technology teams to focus on what matters most, delivering more value for our customers, communities and shareholders.”
TCS will help TWG develop and execute a clear strategy to reduce technological debt, enhance platform standardisation, and drive continuous service improvements through robust governance and transparent reporting.
Mr Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets at Tata Consultancy Services, said, “We are proud to be a strategic partner to The Warehouse Group for this pivotal phase of transformation. Leveraging our global expertise in retail technology, data and AI, we are committed to supporting one of New Zealand’s largest and most iconic retail brands in streamlining their systems and enhancing capabilities through AI adoption and thereby laying the foundation for sustained, long-term value creation.”
