Zelio E-Mobility Opens Manufacturing Plant in Cuttack

Zelio E-Mobility Limited (the company) has commissioned a new manufacturing facility in Cuttack, Odisha, marking a significant milestone in its expansion across eastern India. The company, a rapidly expanding maker of electric two- and three-wheelers, said the decision follows strong demand and customer acceptance in Odisha and West Bengal, which have emerged as high-growth markets. The new plant is intended to reduce delivery timelines, lower logistics costs and improve supply chain efficiency while strengthening dealer support across eastern and southern India.

With the commissioning of the Odisha plant total installed production capacity has increased from 72,000 units per annum to 180,000 units per annum, reflecting the company’s accelerated capacity push. The Hisar facility has been enhanced from 72,000 units to 120,000 units per annum through process optimisation, extended conveyor systems and additional machinery, while the newly commissioned Odisha plant contributes 60,000 units per annum. Management expects the regional production hub to enable faster product availability and improved after-sales responsiveness for dealers and customers.

Investment in the Odisha facility was reported as under Rs 30 mn and the plant is operational with immediate revenue contributions expected. The company reported consolidated revenue of Rs 1.3478 bn in the first half of fiscal year 2026 and net profit of Rs 118.7 mn, and it noted that proceeds from an earlier SME initial public offering of Rs 783.4 mn included approximately Rs 360 mn earmarked for capacity expansion and new facilities. By FY26–FY27 the Odisha plant is projected to contribute a significant share to overall revenues.

The facility is expected to generate employment for approximately 60 to 100 individuals across production and operational functions, reinforcing the company’s commitment to regional economic development. Discussions with the Odisha government regarding potential incentives and support programmes are ongoing as the plant initially focuses on electric two-wheelers. The company intends that the regionally located production hub will reduce delivery timelines and support continued expansion across Tier two and Tier three cities.
