Cushman & Wakefield Enables Lloyd’s List GCC Setup in Chennai
Cushman & Wakefield has facilitated the establishment of a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai for UK-headquartered maritime intelligence provider Lloyd’s List Intelligence (LLI). Developed through Cushman & Wakefield’s GCC Advisory Services, the Centre of Excellence marks a key phase in LLI’s growth amid rising global demand for maritime data and trade intelligence. The Chennai team will support daily global operations by managing and delivering more than one billion maritime data points each day for customers worldwide.
Chennai was selected for its deep talent pool, strong engineering and technology ecosystem, and status as a historic port city housing the Indian Maritime University. The centre is planned to scale to an initial capacity of about 200 professionals.
V.S. Sridhar, Executive Managing Director – Tamil Nadu & Kerala and Head GCC Advisory – Operations & Emerging Cities, said that Cushman & Wakefield supported LLI across the end-to-end process, including location identification, office space acquisition, design and build management, and oversight of ongoing operations.
Parvin Conners, Chief Operating Officer, Lloyd’s List Intelligence, said the Chennai GCC underscores the firm’s commitment to innovation in maritime analytics and noted the support extended by the Government of Tamil Nadu, which signed an MoU for the project on 3 September 2025.
Arpita Srivastava, Managing Director – GCC Advisory & APAC Tenant Representation, said the focus was to ensure seamless market entry and workspace delivery aligned with LLI’s long-term growth and innovation agenda. The initiative is expected to contribute to job creation and skill development in Chennai’s digital and analytics workforce, further establishing the city as a competitive GCC destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
The India office was formally inaugurated on 21 November at DLF Cyber City, Chennai, in the presence of global and regional leadership from both organisations, with discussions centred on maritime intelligence, data-driven transformation and the growing impact of India’s GCC ecosystem.
