Runaya, a Vedanta company specialising in advanced technological solutions for the circular economy and critical metal recovery, has achieved 55% women representation across its workforce, strengthening its focus on diversity and inclusion in manufacturing.

Women at Runaya are contributing across key functions including operations, finance, human resources, legal, commercial, ESG and corporate communications. The company is also developing structured pathways to support women’s growth into leadership and decision-making roles across functions.

Runaya has introduced initiatives such as the Spouse Hiring Initiative, talent mobility programmes and workplace support measures to create greater opportunities for women professionals. The company has also extended equal shift access, including night shifts, along with safety and transport arrangements, welfare support and accommodation facilities at Vedanta townships.

According to Runaya, these measures are aimed at creating an enabling environment for women to build long-term careers in manufacturing. Several first-generation professionals within the organisation have progressed into leadership positions through cross-functional opportunities, increased responsibilities and continuous learning.

The company highlighted examples of employees pursuing higher education alongside their careers and professionals moving into leadership roles, including a Graduate Engineer Trainee who progressed to become Head of Commercial for Runaya’s Recycling business.
