GPT Infra Commissions New Steel Girder Plant Near Kolkata
The company stated that the facility is in the process of securing RDSO (Research Designs and Standards Organisation) approval for manufacturing steel bridge girders. Once approved, this unit is expected to become a key asset for the company’s steel bridge segment, catering to clients like the Indian Railways, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), and others.
“Provision has been made to increase the plant's capacity to 25,000 MTPA over the next two years,” GPT Infra added.
As a leader in steel bridge construction for both rail and road infrastructure, GPT Infraprojects expects the facility to deliver a significant cost advantage and expand its footprint across public sector clients.
GPT Infraprojects, the flagship firm of the Kolkata-based GPT Group, operates in two key segments: infrastructure and sleepers. The company specializes in executing large civil projects like bridges and Road Over Bridges (ROBs) for railways and manufactures concrete sleepers for railway networks in India and Africa.
