Jindal Steel Starts First Galvanising Line at Angul Plant

Jindal Steel has commissioned its inaugural continuous galvanising line (CGL 1) at its Angul works in Odisha, marking a major milestone in the company’s multibillion rupee modernisation programme.

The new installation will turn out both galvanised and galvalume sheet under the Jindal Panther Galvanised and ZINKALUME marques, expanding the firm’s coated steel range for appliance, automotive, infrastructure and construction customers.

By bringing galvanising capability in house, the Angul complex will raise supply reliability, shorten lead times and support downstream manufacturing clusters across eastern and central India.

Jindal Steel said the commissioning underscores its strategy to move further up the value chain in coated products and to capture rising domestic demand driven by housing, white goods and vehicle production.
