Surya Roshni Ltd has secured a contract worth Rs 1.69 billion for the supply of submerged arc welded mild steel pipes, the company said in an exchange filing on Wednesday. The order has been awarded by an undisclosed domestic entity, with the pipes to be supplied for projects in Gujarat and execution scheduled to be completed by June 2026.

The lighting and steel major continues to strengthen its order book amid steady demand from infrastructure and utility projects. In November, the company had won another order valued at Rs 1.05 billion from an engineering and infrastructure firm for the supply of spiral pipes with external 3LPE coating.

Surya Roshni also reported a sharp improvement in its financial performance. Net profit for the September quarter rose 117 per cent year on year to Rs 743 million, compared with Rs 342 million in the same period last year. Revenue from operations increased 21 per cent to Rs 18.45 billion from Rs 15.29 billion a year earlier.

Following the announcement, shares of Surya Roshni Ltd ended 2.38 per cent higher at Rs 257.90 on Wednesday. However, the stock remains down 25.18 per cent over the past six months.
