Assam clears Rs.3.9 bn road project to boost hill district connectivity

As per news reports, the Assam Government has approved a Rs.3.875 billion road infrastructure project for Dima Hasao, marking the state's highest-ever investment in the region. The project involves upgrading 348 km of roads across five routes to national highway standards, aimed at improving connectivity and tourism. The Centre will fund 80 per cent, with Assam contributing 20 per cent. Additionally, Rs.1.45 billion was sanctioned for rural development schemes under the Mega Mission Society, and Rs.843 million allocated to the Bodoland Territorial Council. The Cabinet also upgraded 35 SP posts to Senior SP rank for better policing.
