NHAI Notice to Megha Engineering for NH-66 Collapse

The NHAI has issued a show cause notice to Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd over the collapse of a slope protection structure on the NH 66 Chengala– Neeleshwaram section in Kerala. Preliminary findings cite inadequate slope protection, poor drainage, and construction flaws. NHAI may impose a penalty of up to Rs.9 million and bar the firm from bidding for a year. The project, awarded under the Hybrid Annuity Model, requires the contractor to maintain the stretch for 15 years. Megha Engineering is expected to reconstruct the damaged works at its own cost.
