NHAI set to begin work on Rs 700 cr Airport Road in Mohali
A greenfield road is constructed in an area that has never been developed or built up. The 32 km road from IT City Chowk near the Chandigarh International Airport to the Kurali-Chandigarh road is going to be 60-foot wide and cross Nagiari and Devi Nagar villages. Further, it will also help decongest roads in Chandigarh and Zirakpur.
The NHAI has already obtained around 400 acres of land in 28 villages. Compensation ranging from Rs 55 lakh to Rs 4.12 crore per acre was announced, counting on whether the land is outside or within the municipal limits.
An NHAI official told the media that Ashoka Buildcon has been finalised to begin work on the project within a month.
