NHAI to float tender for Delhi-Jaipur flyover by mid-September

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is working on an action plan to eliminate all the roadblocks between Gurugram and Bawal in the Rewari district, with an aim to enhance the travelling experience on Delhi-Jaipur Expressway.

Preparations have been made to float tenders for flyovers from Manesar to Bilaspur to Masani Barrage and Banipur Chowk in Bawal. The bids will open by mid-September.

Flyover at Bilaspur Chowk, Manesar elevated flyover on the Expressway, two additional lanes on Masani barrage and Banipur Chowk flyover would require nearly Rs 150 crore. An estimated budget of Rs 23 crore has been planned for Bilaspur Chowk, Rs 90 crore has for Manesar Elevated flyover, Rs 25 crore for Bawal Chowk and around Rs 15 crore for Masani Barrage.

Presently, commuters on the expressway are facing heavy traffic snarls. With the construction of the flyovers, the route between Bawal to Gurugram will be a smooth one. Currently, the journey takes two hours, which would decrease by an hour after the flyover construction. The number of road accidents would likely decline.

Industries are likely to profit. Vendor firms of automobiles like Maruti, Hero Honda and many well-known textile firms, comprising export houses are placed here.

As per an estimate, over 10,000 firms are operating in Rewari, Dharuhera Bawal, Manesar and Neemrana, and many employees travel between Gurugram and Bawal for their jobs.

A senior NHAI official told the media that the planning work has begun. It will lessen the traffic pressure on the expressway.

A traffic police officer told the media that it is a much-needed requirement on the expressway. Once these flyovers are constructed, it would assist in reducing traffic volume at the traffic junctions.
