Ulhasnagar issues tenders worth Rs 1.50 bn for road work
The UMC is preparing to make all the roads in Ulhasnagar cement-concrete. Already, more than 60% of the roads in the township are cement-concrete.
On funding, Naikwade said, “The UMC under the Suvarna Jayanti Urban Development Scheme has received a fund of Rs 2.43 billion. If the work is approved, the roads in Ulhasnagar will be in a good condition.
“The Ulhasnagar civic body spends crores of rupees every year on road repair and pothole filling. If concrete roads are constructed, this money can be saved,” UMC Commissioner Aziz Shaikh said.
Shaikh said the civic body is trying to complete the city development work on time and most of the development work will be complete before the new year.
