Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, along with State Minister (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur, conducted an on-site inspection of the Bhopal Metro. The CM boarded a three-coach metro train for a trial run between Subhash Nagar, AIIMS, and Rani Kamlapati Station to assess onboard features and passenger amenities.

“The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will soon inspect the metro works. Once the clearance is granted, the priority corridor will be opened for public use,” said the Chief Minister. He also emphasised the goal to commence operations on the priority corridor by October 2025, with plans to make the Orange and Blue lines fully operational before 2030.

The Bhopal Metro’s Phase 1 comprises two corridors spanning a total of 27.9 km and 28 stations. The project, estimated at Rs 69.41 billion, is expected to be operational by 2027.

In a recent development, the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) successfully completed Oscillation and Emergency Braking Distance (EBD) trials for the metro’s rolling stock, supplied by Alstom India.
