Cabinet Approves Noida Metro Extension From Sector 142 To Botanical Garden
The extension is designed to improve public transport connectivity and to provide direct interchanges at Botanical Garden with the Blue Line and the Magenta Line. It will bridge commercial hubs such as Advant Business Park at Sector 142 and Mall of Noida at Sector 93 and provide better access to major MNCs and IT centres including Microsoft at Sector 145, Infosys at Sector 132 and Cognizant at Sector 135. Educational institutions including Amity University and regional colleges and critical healthcare facilities such as Max Super Specialty Hospital at Sector 128 are expected to benefit.
By linking these areas the project is expected to alleviate road congestion and reduce travel times for commuters and freight movement alike. The rail extension is also projected to lower carbon emissions relative to fossil fuel reliant road transport and to support cleaner urban mobility. Enhanced accessibility to transport hubs including Delhi airport and principal railway stations is anticipated to bolster local commerce and attract investment in areas surrounding the new stations.
The extension corridor is presented as a strategic investment to stimulate economic activity, improve urban mobility and deliver social benefits by expanding equitable access to public transport. It is expected to support employment and education travel patterns while easing pressure on existing road networks. The project is positioned to play a central role in shaping future development and sustainability in Noida and Greater Noida.
