GPT Infraprojects Wins Rs 2bn Railway Bridge Contract
The scope of work includes construction of substructures, along with fabrication and launching of superstructures, for two major railway bridges over the River Rapti. Each bridge will comprise 10 spans of 61 metres and will be designed to carry double-line railway traffic in accordance with RDSO standards for 25-tonne axle loading.
The bridges form part of the new railway line between Khalilabad and Bahraich, a project aimed at improving rail connectivity and operational capacity in the region. The contract is scheduled to be executed over a period of 730 days from the appointed date.
GPT Infraprojects said the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve any promoter group or related-party transactions. Following this order, the company’s total order book has risen to around Rs 46.55 billion, providing strong execution visibility across its railway infrastructure portfolio. Order inflows for the company have reached Rs 17.59 billion so far in FY26, supported by steady traction in both rail and road projects.
The company specialises in railway infrastructure, including bridge construction, road overbridges and concrete sleeper manufacturing. Separately, GPT Infraprojects recently emerged as the lowest bidder for a Rs 6.7 billion road project awarded by the National Highways Authority of India.
The NHAI project has been secured through a consortium comprising GPT Infraprojects and ISCPPL, operating under the name GPT ISCPPL Consortium. The project involves construction of a four-lane elevated corridor in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from Mahamandir to Akhaliya Chouraha, further strengthening the company’s road infrastructure order book.
