Greater Noida Terminal to Link Trains, Metro and Namo Bharat
The wider multi-modal transport hub is planned across 176 to 400 acres, with more than 46 hectares earmarked for the railway station. Located on the Delhi-Howrah main railway line, the terminal is planned to serve destinations including Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. Services towards Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Asansol, Howrah and Kolkata are also part of the proposed network.
The station is planned with 12 platforms and 63 yards, including loop lines, and is expected to handle more than 100 trains a day. These services could include Vande Bharat and Rajdhani trains, along with routes towards Guwahati and other parts of the Northeast.
Metro connectivity will come through a 2.6-km extension of the Noida Metro Aqua Line from the existing depot station. The extension is planned to include Janapada and Bodaki stations. The terminal is also proposed to connect with the 72-km Ghaziabad-Greater Noida-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor, linking the area with Greater Noida, Noida International Airport and the Delhi-Meerut corridor.
An Inter-State Bus Terminal spread over 12.5 acres is planned at the site, enabling transfers between rail and road services. Road access is proposed through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, NH-34, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway. The two-storey station building will house railway operations on the ground floor, while hotels, food outlets and commercial spaces are planned above. The project has received special railway project status, and its Detailed Project Report provides for completion within three years.
