In just 77 days, Agra Metro Rail Project reached major milestone

The 440-meter-long tunnel connecting the planned underground Jama Masjid metro station with the Agra Fort metro station was finished by TBM Yamuna in just 77 days, making it the country's quickest progress on a metro project. This achievement marked a significant milestone for the Agra Metro Rail Project. Beginning in February 2023, tunnelling operations began on the 3 km underground stretch of the priority corridor that runs between the Taj Mahal and Jama Masjid. As part of the Agra Metro Rail Project, the tunnelling work connecting Ramlila Maidan and Agra Fort Metro Station has also been finished.

From the Ramleela Maidan crossover to the Agra Fort, the machine constructed 239 rings (334m) in 77 days. Two lines and 27 stops make up the 29.4 km long Agra Metro. The Priority Corridor's commissioning is anticipated to happen by the deadline of August 2024. By March 2024, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) intends to provide the inhabitants of Agra with a first-rate metro system, calling it a significant accomplishment in a short period of time.
