Land Acquisition Begins For Kochi’s Infopark Metro Station

Construction of the Infopark Metro station in Kochi is set to begin shortly, with the Revenue Department initiating land acquisition for the project. The move marks a key milestone in the expansion of the Kochi Metro’s Phase II Pink Line, which will connect JLN Stadium to Infopark.

The acquisition covers 0.19 hectares near the Infopark Phase I campus and is expected to be completed within a few weeks. While some land currently leased to private companies will be affected, officials have emphasised that the social and economic advantages of the project far outweigh any short-term disruptions.

Meanwhile, construction of the viaduct for the Pink Line is progressing swiftly, with U-girder installation already underway along the Infopark Expressway. The line will serve the expanding technology corridor of Kochi, improving last-mile connectivity and easing daily commutes for thousands of professionals working in the area.

Once operational, the Infopark Metro station is expected to significantly enhance urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and support the region’s continued economic growth by linking major business and residential hubs.
