The Maharashtra government has approved projects worth Rs 181.3 billion for Mumbai Metro Line 5A, covering both Phase 1 and Phase 2. The proposed 34.21 km corridor will feature 19 stations and strengthen connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The integrated corridor is expected to link key urban centres including Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Ulhasnagar, improving daily commuting and supporting emerging residential and industrial zones.
The state also approved funding support for three expressway projects in Vidarbha and infrastructure preparations for the Nashik Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027. The decisions reflect a broader push to modernise transport networks and regional infrastructure across Maharashtra.
