Mizoram CM Reviews Progress of Key Infrastructure Projects
Representatives of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways participated online and were instructed to expedite repairs to severely damaged stretches of the KMMTTP within Mizoram. The meeting also addressed pending compensation-related matters connected with the project, with officials asked to resolve the issues to support further execution.
Officials reviewed the 109.2-km Paletwa–Kaletwa–Zochachhuah road project being implemented under the Ministry of External Affairs. The project has achieved 23.35 per cent physical progress and 30 per cent financial progress, according to information presented at the meeting.
Railway authorities briefed the meeting on work towards the proposed railway line connecting Sairang with Hmawngbuchhuah in Lawngtlai district in southern Mizoram. They also outlined improvement works under way at Sairang railway station, while the meeting assessed the India-Bangladesh border fencing-cum-road project, particularly the Rajiv Nagar segment.
Ministry of Home Affairs officials participating online presented an update on the border project. The meeting highlighted the need for urgent repairs to severely damaged roads and the settlement of other project-related difficulties, including issues linked to work on the Aizawl-Tuipang National Highway.
The State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre’s initiatives addressing cybercrime and digital arrest cases were also reviewed. A follow-up plan was formulated, with progress on the projects and pending matters scheduled for review at subsequent Mi-PRAGATI meetings, officials said.
