Northern Railway Raises Rs 28 Million From Stall E-Auction
Led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, the initiative aims to strengthen asset monetisation and increase non-fare revenue.
Stalls were allotted at several stations, including Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, in a move designed to improve passenger convenience and support local businesses. Additional allotments were made at Pathankot Cantonment, Sopore and Anantnag stations.
According to the statement, the Railways is projected to earn Rs 28.01 million (Rs 2,80,09,243) from these stalls over five years. Singhal noted that the latest e-auction has generated the highest revenue of all previous auctions.
He added that the stalls will significantly benefit passengers by offering essential items conveniently, enhancing travel comfort and reducing inconvenience, while also promoting local enterprise.
