Northern Railway Raises Rs 28m From Mega E-Auction Of Stalls

Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has conducted a mega e-auction for multi-purpose stalls, expected to generate Rs 28 million over five years while enhancing passenger amenities across key stations, officials said on Monday.

Led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, the initiative aims to strengthen asset monetisation and increase non-fare revenue. Stalls were allotted at several stations, including Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, marking a significant step towards improving passenger facilities and supporting local businesses. Additional allotments were made at Pathankot Cantonment, Sopore and Anantnag stations.

According to the official statement, the stalls will generate total revenue of Rs 28,009,243 over the five-year period. Singhal said the auction has brought in the highest revenue achieved in any previous e-auction. He added that beyond boosting earnings, the multi-purpose stalls will benefit passengers by offering essential items conveniently, making travel more comfortable while promoting local enterprise.
