SCR seek bids for a new railway line

South Central Railway (SCR) has issued a tender for the survey of a new 110-kilometer broad gauge railway line connecting Muddanur in YSR district to Prasanthi Nilayam in Satya Sai district through Pulivendula and Mudigubba.

The tender is for land surveying, leveling, and alignment, as well as soil testing and bore drilling for proposed bridges.

The Kadapa-Bengaluru route, spanning 255 kilometers and passing through Madanapalle and Kolar, was approved by the railways in 2008. Construction on this has been completed all the way from Kadapa to Pendlimarri.

Following that, a survey for the Muddanur-Prasanthi Nilayam line was planned in the 2021-22 budget. This would relieve the state government of the burden of matching grants.

The new line will also provide connectivity for people between Dharmavaram and Kadapa.
