Centre to invest Rs 800 billion in Andhra Pradesh's port development

The development of port-related infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh will cost the federal government roughly Rs 800 billion, according to Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.

The centre has approved 110 projects totaling Rs 1.1 trillion in funding for Andhra Pradesh, of which Rs 800 billion will be spent on 80 projects over the coming several years.

Due to its extensive coastline and the existence of numerous ports, Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a crucial factor in the growth of the nation. Government has undertaken various projects for comprehensive upgrading of infrastructure connecting ports, and harbours under Sagarmala Pariyojana in Andhra Pradesh.
